NEWCASTLE  IS  BEING  SOLD  DOWN  THE  LINE.

THIS  CAN  HAPPEN  TO  YOU!

It is the only land in Newcastle not heavily undermined, therefore a Developer Prize, where taller buildings can be built.

   -  (Transport Administration Act 1988, Section 99A).

            They are appealing the decision.

THE LINE IS STILL INTACT, BUT THE GOVERNMENT HAS STOPPED THE TRAINS FROM RUNNING BEYOND HAMILTON, HAS POURED HOTMIX OVER IT TO CREATE CROSSINGS, HAS TAKEN DOWN SIGNALLING WIRES AND FENCES AND REMOVED BOOM GATES.

THEY HAVE PUSHED AHEAD TO IMPLEMENT DEVELOPER DRIVEN PERMANENT CLOSURE

THIS MEANS:  BUILDINGS ON THE CORRIDOR:  HERITAGE NEWCASTLE STATION TO BE A PRODUCE MARKET:  CIVIC STATION DEMOLISHED:  FORCED INTERCHANGE AT WICKHAM:  NO DIRECT RAIL TO BEACHES:  RAILWAY STREET CLOSED:  TRAFFIC CHAOS:  PASSENGER INCONVENIENCE & TRIP DELAY:  LOSS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT PATRONAGE.

THIS IS PRIVATISATION OF A PUBLIC UTILITY

The Baird Government can try the same sneaky procedures to privatise public utilities, amenities or spaces ANYWHERE IN N.S.W.

What are they looking at through developer eyes in your neck of the woods?  A heritage building to knock down?  Is there a pristine bay near you?  An expressway to replace homes?  Which rail line is next?

"īmprove not remove"                                        "trains bring customers"

It is worth noting that the N.S.W. Coalition Govt. promised Newcastle's Lord Mayor that, when they leased Newcastle's port for 99 years, they would provide $300million towards the upgrade of the City's CBD.  Newcastle's Lord Mayor, Jeff McCloy, was forced to resign his position after ICAC found he bribed Liberal State Members with envelopes containing up to $10,000 in enticements.

In conclusion, Jeff McCloy is a renowned multi-millionaire property developer.
