THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALDS OPINION COLUMN SEPTEMBER 8 GIVES LIE TO THE CLIMATE CHANGE FRAUD

RUDD FACES THE GARNAUT DILEMMA

The very loud concern in sections of industry has been that Australia will do too much too soon on climate change.  Yet judging by Ross Garnauts latest report on global warning, the worry should be that the world will do too little too late.

The report from the Federal Governments climate change adviser focuses on two targets for reducing greenhouse gases, principally carbon dioxide.  The world could aim to stabilise the atmosphere at 550 parts per million of carbon dioxide or more ambitiously, 450.  However, neither option is satisfactory.  The first option is achievable, but inadequate.  The second is adequate, but not achievable.  This is the Garnaut dilemma.

After reluctantly concluding the world will not agree on the tougher target, the report opts for the easier option.  The 450 option would remain an aim, but a relatively distant one.  Professor Garnaut wants Australia to act quickly, but not too quickly.  He wants Australia to be a leader in tackling climate change, but not to run too far ahead of the rest of the world.  Australia should carefully calibrate its approach to emissions trading and pricing pollution permits.

The report does not want Australia put at an international disadvantage.  It is at pains to assure industry that Australias commitments agreements.  Australia should be a world leader in addressing climate change, and it should certainly seek to pioneer technological change, but in no sense should it be going alone.

Politics being the art of the possible, the latest Garnaut report is both measured and statesmanlike.  The uncomfortable question is whether the planet has time for the slow workings of international diplomacy.  If the world limits itself to the 550 option, temperatures could rise by more than three degrees which, Professor Garnaut has said. Could have catastrophic consequences, including the destruction of coastal communities as sea levels rise and the extinction of up to one third of the worlds species.

The latest Garnaut report may appear to offer the Federal Government plenty of wriggle room as it sets about the large task of setting greenhouse gas targets and devising a permit scheme.  It endorses the pursuit of less - demanding carbon dioxide targets in the near term.  However, there is no escaping the demand for more rigorous gases are to be stabilised at adequately benign levels.  That is the Garnaut challenge.

Editors Note:  What a load of crap.  Professor Garnaut is an economist who has no scientific qualification what so ever.  Think climate, think Change, think Fraud.  Evidence by climate change expert Dr. David Evans can be found on the following website:

Greenhouse emissions are derived generally from “HOT AIR EMISSION” in one form or another.

“The strategy” provided us with the previous article by Dr. David Evans which gave pretty convincing evidence that the so-called global warming affect just cannot be substantiated and our further research on this subject shows most support his views.

Having contacted Dr. Evans we gave you his version of Think climate, Think Change, Think Fraud.

Now we find our Mandarin speaking Leader interviewed on 60 Minutes and making some more of his “hot air unsubstantiated” climate change comments - in fact most of what he says appears to be in complete contradiction to the facts.  Following is, part of the 60 Minutes interview by Tara Brown with Mr Rudd:

Tara Brown:       For almost 20 years now, we have travelled to these places.  Places, which, if you believe the dire warnings of global warning, may be doomed. Certainly our Prime Minister Kevin Rudd believes them. How big a challenge is climate change to man kind in 2008?

Kevin Rudd:       I think it’s probably one of the biggest if the not The biggest challenge for the century and the reason’s pretty clear - it affects everything.

Tara Brown:       So convinced is the Federal Government of the threat, it is about to introduce a controversial carbon tax that will not only change the way we live, but have a  huge impact on our economy.

Kevin Rudd:       I’m not going to lie to you and say this is going to be cost free.  This is a tough decision, we need to take it for the Country’s long-term future and its long - term     economic future. But economic cost of not acting is massive its through the roof. Think about food production, the Murray, think about the pact on tourism in QLD no more Barrier Reef, Kakadu, no more Kakadu.Think about the impact on jobs, it’s huge.

Tara Brown:       How certain are you that man kind is the cause behind global warming?

Kevin Rudd:       Well, I just look at what the scientists say.  There’s a group of scientists called the International Panel on Climate Change - 4000 of them. Guys in white               coats who run around and don’t have a sense of humor. They just measure things.  And what they say to us is it’s happening and it’s caused by human activity.

Editor Steve Truman of Agmates picked up the following:

Kevin Rudd:       Well, I just look at what the scientists say.  There’s a group of Scientists called the International Panel on climate change - 4000 of them.

Stop right there!  What was blindingly obvious from the interview is that Rudd does not have a grasp of the actual facts.  Who knows where he got the figure of 4,000 IPCC Scientists?  The IPCC report he refers to was signed by 2,500 people which according to Dr. David Evans is made up of over 50 per cent UN bureaucrats leaving less than 1,200 scientists.

Rudd’s bulls..T exaggeration wasn’t picked up by Brown nor the fact that the IPCC report which Rudd hangs his whole need to self harm our economy has a number of the actual 2,500 who strongly disagree with IPCC reports conclusion.

Despite that Kevin Rudd BELIEVES the IPCC report to be gospel.

Tara Brown:       Man’s desire to create great economic wealth has fuelled an unabashed lust for energy.  It means we’ve treated the planet as a dump pumping whatever we wanted.  But increasingly, smoke stacks have become symbols of environmental embarrassment rather than industrial envy.  For years, the experts have told us these emissions cause global warming.

Tara Brown:       And what we should know, according to David Evans, is since 2001 temperatures around the world have stopped rising. And that’s despite increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the air. So statistically, in the last seven years, the flattening and perhaps even slight cooling of temperatures, is that significant?

David Evans:      Yes, yes it is significant.  Once it gets up to five years or so it’s really quite significant.  Whatever was driving the temperatures up has taken a break for a while and meanwhile carbon emissions have continued and the level of carbon in the atmosphere has gone up about 5 per cent since 2001, yet we see no more warming.

Kevin Rudd:       Here’s a measurement which people should just sit back and pay a bit of  attention to the 12 hottest years in human history have occurred in the last 13 years. That’s a fact.

Tara Brown:       It’s not my position to correct you Prime Minister but I’ve been told that in fact during the middle ages the global temperatures were two to three degrees warmer than now. Certainly we’ve had the hottest 12 years in recent history but the planet’s been a lot hotter.

Kevin Rudd:       Well, I stand by what the International Panel of Climate Change Scientists had to say. There will always be argy-bargy about elements of the detail.

Tara Brown:       Global Warming certainly attracts lots of argy-bargy. But one thing climate scientists agree on, if global warming is caused by CO-2 emissions then the CO-2 will leave a distinct signature, their computer models predict a big red hotspot above the equator. The problem is thousands of weather balloons equipped with some very sophisticated thermometers have measured the temperatures in the atmosphere to test the theory, and guess what, no hotspots.

David Evans:      There’s no hotspot, there’s no hotspot at all.  It’s not even a little hotspot and it’s missing.  We couldn’t find it.

Tara Brown:       So, this is the crux for you, this is evidence?

David Evans:      Yes. If this had come out the other way, if we’d measured it and we’d found a hotspot I’d be saying, “cut back carbon emissions.

Tara Brown:       A very simple question, is there any chance you’re looking in the wrong spot?

David Evans:      No

Tara Brown:       But still, carbon emissions are blamed for global warming. And in turn, global warming seems to be at the heart of every grim climate story we’ve reported in the last 20 years.

Kevin Rudd:       Well our attitude is that this country has enormous energy sources, both traditional carbon - based energy as well as renewable in the forms of solar, wind, geothermal. And on coal we have a particular responsibility to pioneer and, if we can, perfect and if possible apply at commercially meaningful levels  clean coal technology.

Tara Brown:       If we can clean up coal we can save a $25 billion energy industry and 30,000 jobs. But that technology is still probably five years away and so, more immediately our Prime Ministers wants to cut emissions by putting cost on carbon. Mr Rudd calls it a carton pollution reduction scheme.  Big emitters will have to buy permits to pollute.  It is hoped this will act as an incentive to make them cleaner, but of course they’ll pass the costs on to us, and we’ll end up paying more for everything.  In the short term, the Government will compensate some industry and some householders, but ultimately our whole way of life will change.  Is it going to wreck  our economy?

Kevin Rudd:       The key thing is, how do you bring carbon pollution down in an economically responsible fashion? And having looked at all the detail this is the best way forward.

Tara Brown:       But if you believe the sceptics, and carbon dioxide isn’t to blame for global warming then we face massive change for no good reason.

David Evans:      Isn’t it a bit dopey to wreck the economy for a purely theoretical reason when the alleged symptom, warming, stopped six years ago.

Tara Brown:       they perhaps would use the word prudent as opposed to dopey, that the risk of not doing something is too great?

David Evans:      I urge them to look at the modern science, the evidence isn’t there.  There is no evidence that carbon emissions cause a significant amount of global warming.

Kevin Rudd:       I am not, myself, a qualified scientist. I’m elected as Prime Minister of Australia to act on the basis of the considered scientific advice.

Tara Brown:       But it’s never too late to continue the debate is it?

Kevin Rudd:       Look at your kids in the eye tonight and ask yourself this question - “If we have this much evidence available to us now on climate change and just refuse to act, then what are the consequences for them?”  The alternative, however, is to just stick your head in the sand and hope it all goes away.

Editors note:      The Prime Minister confesses he is not a scientist and yet on the 60 Minutes show he wanted and did argue the case for global warming against the views of a highly qualified scientist such as Dr. David Evans.  It appears that the Prime Minster is relying on his spin-doctor Ross Garnaut who is not a qualified scientist but purely an economist.

It is worth repeating that Dr. David Evans stated on the 60 Minutes Show, “The IPCC report, that the Prime Minister refers to was signed by 2,500 people which according to Dr. David Evans is made up of over 50 per cent United Nations bureaucrats, leaving less than 1,200 scientists.”

You, our fellow Australians be the judge.

CLIMATE CHANGE - FRAUD AND CORRUPTION

Greenhouse gases are supposed to be the major problem in causing climate change, however it is obvious that evidence provided by Dr. David Evans proves that greenhouse gases are far from the problem.

Just how far these incompetent, corrupt, back-stabbing politicians will go with their bloody-minded abuse of their powers - creating bogus Carbon Emissions Scheme remains to be seen, but it is up to the people of Australia to take a stand and make their family, friends and their friends aware of the political conspiracy being perpetuated by all three tiers of Government, Federal, State and Local Councils and shires regarding the great fraud - global warming and climate change.

Should the Australian people wake-up to the treacherous actions of our politicians it could be sufficient to invoke a people’s court.  The penalty for TREASON IS DEATH.  And there would be very few politicians, and for that matter judges and magistrates who would not be tainted.
